Housing fair in Capiz underway

A five-day Housing Fair and Exhibit of the Pag-IBIG Fund Bacolod Housing Business Center kicked off
on Oct. 23 at the A&T Santos building, Pueblo de Panay here, in view of the National Shelter Month
celebration.
A total of 61 properties in the province composed of nine single attached houses, six single detached
homes, two-row houses, and 44 lots are up for bidding in the fair.
Pag-IBIG Fund Bacolod Housing Business Center Department Manager Wilmer Lirazan said that for the
first three quarters of 2023, Pag-IBIG Fund has financed 68,211 housing loans in the country with an
overall total of P88.3 billion.
Lirazan also praised the residents of Panay Island for achieving 92 percent in the Performing Loans
ratio and only showing that they are excellent payee of the Pag-IBIG Fund loans.
Further, in a press release, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD)
Secretary Jose Rizalino L. Acuzar said that Pag-IBIG Fund remains at the forefront of in-home financing
as it accounts for nearly 40 percent of the total home mortgages in the country.
“This shows that it continues to fulfill its mandate by providing affordable home financing to Filipino
workers and effectively stimulating the housing industry. These are all in line with the call of President
Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to provide our fellow Filipinos with better and dignified lives,” Acuzar added.
According to the Pag-IBIG Fund, they have already granted P111.35 billion in house loans from
January to September to help pay for the purchase of 83,063 housing units.
It consists of P23.05 billion in loans allowed for 14,852 borrowers and is now available for release
upon submitting post-approval requirements.
The same activity was also conducted by Pag-IBIG Fund Bacolod Housing Business Center in the city in
September 2022 and June this year.
