ID for Covid-19 contact tracing proposed

ROXAS CITY — The use of an ID is being proposed to help the city government in its COVID-19 contact tracing data management system.

Residents and visitors of the city would be asked to present the ID when they enter commercial establishments, government and private offices, educational institutions and other crowded places.

The Roxas City ID, easily downloadable, would have a QR Code, the Upod Kita Ronnie Dadivas Facebook page said.

The proposal is called DIRECTS (Digitized Roxas City Epidemiological Contact Tracing System). It is a mobile application that serves as a digital contact tracing platform.

It was recently proposed by the Roxas City ICT Team.

Through the system, it would restrict entry of individuals still in the CoVid-19 High Risk Contact or Suspect list.

Said system will also be able to indentify those who should remain in quarantine. (Ralph John Mijares)
