‘I’m here to inspire’ – PRO 6 chief

All the police officers and civilian employees of the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) got a dose of a reminder to further build a positive image of the Philippine National Police in maintaining peace and order as well as ensuring public safety and internal security.
“I am here to inspire you because our work is not just merely for income but it is a calling,” stressed Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 director Brig. Gen. Sidney N. Villaflor during a visit at the CPPO headquarters in Camp Teodorico C. Apil in Brgy. Lanot, here late last June.
The region’s top cop also reminded the Chiefs of Police and mobile force commanders to regularly
monitor their personnel and their equipment for “completeness, cleanliness and operational
readiness.”
“Obligasyon ko na bumaba kausapin kayo to know what you are doing and to give guidance sa inyo (It is my obligasyon to reach out and talk to you, to know what you are doing and to give you guidance),” he noted, urging the province’s policemen to be snappy officers and follow the chain of command in the PNP organization.
He was ushered by CPPO director Col. Jerome D. Afuyog, Jr. during a command visit and talk to the troops and conducted a courtesy call on Gov. Fredenil Castro at the Provincial Capitol, here.
Villaflor is a native of Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija and the assignment is his first task in Western Visayas.
A graduate of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 1992, he was the deputy director for
administration of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Camp Crame in Quezon City prior to his appointment to lead the PRO 6. (PIA Capiz)
