ROXAS CITY — The Sangguniang Bayan of Maayon has recently approved the ordinance mandating the use of face shields.
It is fully titled as “An Ordinance Mandating the Use of Face Shields while inside the Workplace, Public Transportation, and in Public Places within the Territorial Jurisdiction of the Municipality of Maayon, and Imposing Penalties for Violations Thereof.”
Per ordinance, face shields must be worn by everyone at work and in public places. The same has been mandated to be worn when using public transport.
Authored by municipal councilor Eden Diaz and sponsored by the Sangguniang Bayan en banc, it has been set to prevent the spread of Corona Virus Disease-19 (Covid-19) in Maayon.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan upheld the validity of the ordinance unanimously by the provincial health committee headed by Board Member Steve Contreras. (Ralph John Mijares)
