Med-techs for city’s RT-PCR lab complete training

By Ralph John Mijares

ROXAS CITY—As of this writing, the first batch of medical technologists (medtech) who will run the reverse transcription – polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test laboratory have completed their training.

The said laboratory is located in the Hortus Botanicus facility in Bgy. Milibili here.

The completion of the training was reported by the Upod Kita Ronnie Dadivas Facebook page, Sept 18.

Those who completed the training will in turn train their fellow medical technologists.

This will be ongoing until the Department of Health and Research Institute for Tropical Medicine announces the date for their proficiency test.

The proficiency test will be announced once the remaining requirements are accomplished by the city government.

Previously, Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said that the city’s RT PCR laboratory was established to speed up the procurement of results.
