It was a miracle birth for a baby girl when she was born inside a car, which fell off the road in Sigma town last Thursday evening, June 5.
The baby girl’s mother Angeline Duran was in the car driven by her father Malvin when the accident occurred.
The Duran couple and two relatives were on their way to Mambusao District Hospital in neighboring Mambusao town to bring Angeline.
When the car reached Barangay Amaga, the mother went into labor. Malvin decided to stop the car and parked it along the road to assist Angeline.
But the car, which was in neutral, rolled forward and plunged down the slope.
Local residents rushed to the scene and helped in the rescue efforts.
Aside from the family of three, the Duran’s two other relatives were also rescued.
Responders from the Sigma Fire Station and other emergency units arrived shortly after and transported the newborn baby and her mother to Sigma Rural Health Clinic.
The baby and her mother are both in stable condition.
