‘Nalugmok, nagsumikap, nagkakabonus na’

BESHIE KATE | Sikreto Sang Sugilanon

(Writer’s note: Enough muna with too much drama lalo na nga may pandemya subong. Let’s focus on something more inspirational coming from John).

Ako si John, isa ka tawo nga may mental illness.

Hindi ako pang-mental hospital nga may mental illness kag gina-emphasize ko ina kay para ma-educate ko lang ang publiko nga not all who have mental illnesses are in mental hospitals kag wala na ga-function.

Factors that contribute to my mental illness are work-related — related to the customers, the pressure, and a certain colleague I deal with, to be exact.

But I chose to stay because of the pay.

One day, I ended my life because I was sick of the flashbacks between me and that one colleague and due to losing faith in myself pero nakaluwas lang ako.

Months later, I got my first bonus, and I have been earning my bonuses in recent consecutive pay periods afterward.

In the most recent pay period, I earned the highest bonus within my team.

From worst to first.

And I look forward to more bonuses to come.

Sana maka-inspire story ko sa iban nga mga tawo.

LAYGAY

I am glad that you can turn things around, John.

Keep going.

Focus on that chip on your shoulder and keep growing.

Congratulations sa imo.*
