NFA Capiz enforces higherbuying price for palay

The National Food Authority (NFA) has set a new procuring price for dry and wet palay intended to enhance the procurement of palay stocks to all the individual farmers, farmer organizations and associations to secure sufficient buffer stocks for emergency and calamity response. NFA is procuring clean and dry palay at prices ranging from P23.00 to P30.00 per kilogram while fresh or wet palay at rates
of P17.00- P23.00 per kilogram. This new price range is based on the newly implemented Price Range Scheme (PRICERS) where there is flexibility in setting ex- farm buying price of palay at a competitive level to attain the palay procurement target of the government. Regular monitoring and surveys will
also be conducted for assessment and recommendations for a competitive price; therefore, adjustments on a weekly basis in all covered areas nationwide are expected.
Farmers who wish to deliver their harvested palay in any NFA warehouses only needs to secure their certification from the Department of Agriculture- Municipal Agriculture Office (DA-MAO) of farm area registered on DA’s RSBSA List indicating their hectarage for palay to have an Individual passbook,
meanwhile, Cooperatives/ Association who have no master’s passbook only need to submit certificates from Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) or Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or any registrations certificate from concerned government agencies; but if already included on DA’s RSBSA list,
may go directly to the nearest NFA warehouses for inquiry.
