NFA-Capiz secures sufficient rice supply

The National Food Authority (NFA-Capiz) has enough rice supply to meet the daily consumption
requirement of the Capizeños and Akeanons with its more than 30,000 bags in rice inventory.
The NFA-Capiz recorded a supply of 31,762 bags of rice equivalent from all warehouses in the
province, which can cover the daily demand of 10,430 bags per day.
Also, the supplies from commercial and household sources can also help meet the needs of rice
sufficiency on top of the agency’s buffer stock.
Commodities stored are stocks maintained to ensure food security in times of calamities and
emergencies as stated under Republic Act No. 11203 or the Rice Tarrification Law.
These are then supplied to relief agencies for relief operations to affected families. All stocks
are well supervised by technical personnel before issuance to ensure its good quality fit for
human consumption.
To support our country’s food security, NFA-Capiz continues to buy quality clean and dry palay
in its new purchasing price of P23.00 per kilogram.
Clean and dry palay, which has below 14% moisture content has added buffer stock incentive of
P4.00 per kilogram while palay with moisture content above 14.1% or the Wet palay has added
buffer stock incentive of P3.00 per kilogram.
The buffer stock incentive (BSI) may vary every week base on the ex-farm gate price.

and other clients interested to avail the services offered.
