No election hotspot areas in Roxas City as it remained peaceful for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections this October, election officer Rommel Benliro said.
He also said there is no reported presence of private armed groups, and election-related violence was recorded in the city.
“We pray that the candidates will behave until election day. There are no family clashes or political rivals,” he said.
However, Benliro said he has served a show cause order to one candidate for alleged premature campaigning.
Roxas has 47 barangays composed of 618 precincts in 40 voting centers, with a total registered voters of 112,393.
According to the Commission on Elections, eight candidates for punong barangay and SK chair were unopposed.*
