No face shield, no ride policy enforced

ROXAS CITY—All passengers of public transportation must wear face shields, Provincial Highway Patrol officer Police Capt. Peter Bergonio said.

Bergonio said that the face shield must be worn while the person is also wearing a face mask.

The memorandum was enforced on August 15.

While no penalties were set yet at this writing, passengers are being encouraged to wear face shields and facemasks, Bergonio said.

Drivers, on the other hand, are told to avoid picking up passengers who are not complying with the said policy, he added.

Additionally, those riding motorcycles who wear helmets are not anymore required to wear face shields.

On August 16, Bergonio advised the public to place barrier on their motorcycles. (Ralph John Mijares/Reports from Edalyn Acta and Amy Minoza)
