ROXAS CITY—Recently, Representative Emmanuel “Tawi” Billones Sr. of the First District of Capiz said there are congressmen who have not been satisfied with the budgets given to them.
According to Billones, one of these is Arnulfo Teves Jr. of the 3rd District of Negros Oriental.
On his part, Billones said that he hopes the Php1.8-billon budget allocated for the First District of Capiz would not be slashed.
Php1.6 billion was the budget allocation for the Capiz 1st District for 2020.
Previously, national broadsheet Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that Albay 1st District Edcel Lagman said there is an “inequitable allocation of infrastructure budget to the different districts.”
A possible replacement for House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano is Paolo Duterte of Davao, Billones added.
There have also been reports of a term-sharing agreement between Cayetano and Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco, the Capiz representative said.
