‘Observe health protocols even on vacation’

Police Brig. Gen. Rolando Miranda, director of Police Regional Office-6, is urging the public to still follow health protocols while enjoying the summer vacation with their families as the coronavirus pandemic is not yet over.

Miranda said the police are gearing up for the summer.

Although gatherings such as town fiestas and other events are still not allowed, the PRO-6 is gearing up for the reopening of more tourist destinations, he said.

“Our deployment would be adjusted based on the guidelines set by Inter-Agency Task Force but on our end, we have to prepare for any possibilities this,” Miranda said.

He said almost 6,000 policemen will be deployed in the region to secure churches, transport terminals, seaports, malls, tourist destinations, and other places of convergence.

Also, some 11,682 force multipliers will augment the uniformed personnel in securing their respective areas of responsibility.*
