The owner of the 10-wheeler truck that killed two and injured 12 others in Ivisan town vowed to
extend financial aid to the victims.
Atty. Alfredo Arungayan, lawyer for Iloilo NKS Marketing that owned the 10-wheeler truck,
said the burial and hospital expenses will be shouldered by the company.
Arungayan met with the family of the victims last August 14 to extend the company’s apologies
that resulted to the fatal road accident.
The 10-wheeler truck driven by Ryan Molato was on its way to Kalibo, Aklan from Balasan,
Iloilo when it lost its brakes while passing along the town last August 13.
Killed were 39-year-old Maricel Sargento and 66-year-old Jose Navarra.
The 10-wheeler truck plowed some 29 vehicles, portion of a gas station and several stalls along
Poblacion Norte.
Police Major Ruby Magallanes, Ivisan police chief, said the driver tested negative of illegal
drugs.
The driver and the four crew of the truck were released last August 14 after the period of
detention lapsed.
But the driver will be facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide, multiple
physical injuries, and multiple damage of properties.
