OWWA 6 leads OFW Family Day in Capiz

ABOUT 200 Overseas Filipino
Workers (OFW) and their
family members, representing
the various OFW associations
in the province, joined the OFW
Family Day conducted by the
Overseas Workers Welfare
Administration (OWWA)
Regional Welfare Offi ce 6 in the
civic center of Jamindan town.
The yearly undertaking
is conducted by OWWA in
the spirit of Christmas and in
recognition of the OFWs as the
country’s modern-day heroes
and the government’s partner in
nation – building.
OWWA 6 Offi cer-In-
Charge Rizza Joy M. Moldes
has conveyed her appreciation to
the social partners and the local
government unit of Jamindan
town for their support to the
activity as she also presented theagency’s programs and services
and acknowledged all the guests and participants.
During the program,
Moldes and Jamindan Gender and Development (GAD) focal person Ma. Tinnith Moise awarded the Notice of Award to the new OWWA scholars in Capiz for School Year 2022

-2023 under the Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) and OFW Dependents Scholarship Program (ODSP).
Also, three scholars under the Education and Livelihood Assistance Program
– Educational Component and one beneficiary of Welfare Assistance Program (WAP)-
Bereavement received their financial assistance from

OWWA as part of the activity.
For his part, Jamindan
mayor Mac Artur Valdemar has
acknowledged the OWWA’s
eff orts in delivering programs
and services for the OFWs and
their families in the province.
The municipal government
has an active OFW Help Desk
which looks into the welfare
of OFWs and their family
members.
It is being managed by then
OFW and now OFW Help Desk
offi cer Analyn Dando.
The participants were
also oriented on the various
programs and services off ered
by the Social Security System
(SSS) for them as well as on
fi nancial literacy by the Home
Credit Philippines. They
were also given tokens and
Christmas packs.
The gathering was also
graced by Department of Labor
and Employment – Capiz Field
Offi ce head Amalia N. Judicpa
and other municipal offi cials,
