P19.2-million KALAHI-CIDSSprojects in Maayon opens

AT least P19.2-million worth of infrastructure projects by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has been formally opened in Maayon town.
Mayor Raymond “MonMon” Malapajo welcomed the inauguration of the sub-projects under
Kalahi-CIDSS, which is the National Community- Driven Development Program (NCDDP) of the DSWD.
The Kalahi-CIDSS projects span 32 barangays across Maayon.
The specific projects include the concreting of barangay roads in Aglimocon, Alasaging, Alayunan, and others, along with a pathway in Barangay Maalan.
Additionally, new barangay health stations were inaugurated in Barangay Quevedo and Cabungahan, providing crucial health services including immunizations, prenatal care, morbidity monitoring, and treatment for various health issues.
Elizabeth Ferraris of DSWD Kalahi-CIDSS said this showed the importance of volunteerism and stakeholder commitment, essential for the program’s success and the revival of the Bayanihan spirit of community cooperation.

Malapajo lauded the roles of barangays in maintaining these projects and that it is critical for the projects’ successful implementation.
This event marked a significant milestone in the continuing partnership between the Maayon local government unit (LGU) under the Malapajo administration and the DSWD. (Maayon PIO)
