
For fiscal year 2025, the Capiz Provincial Government is working with a budget of P2.6 billion.
This year, the Capitol’s budget of P2.6 billion is larger than the P2.5 billion budget for fiscal year 2024.
Bulk of the Capitol’s budget is allocated for Social Services with P819.9 million. There’s also a budget of P614.2 million for General Services and P238.8 million for Economic Services.
Provincial Board Member Jonathan Besa, chairman of the appropriations committee of the Capiz Sangguniang Panlalawigan, said the administration of Governor Fredenil Castro is prioritizing health programs this year.
The different district hospitals operated by the Capiz Provincial Government has ample of budget to serve the medical needs of the people from all over the province.
Foremost, the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in Roxas City has a working budget of P182.7 million.
There’s also a budget of P37.13 million for Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra; P31.16 million for Mambusao District Hospital in Mambusao; P26.9 million for Sen. Gerardo M. Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao; and P15.6 million for Tapaz District Hospital in Tapaz.
The development fund allocation is around P464 million while calamity fund has an allocation of P131.9 million.
Furthermore, at least P250 million has been allocated this year for the construction of the new capitol at Pueblo de Panay.
Besa said that this year’s budget is mainly sourced from the national tax allotment (NTA) of the national government, which amounted to P2.32 billion.
The remaining P380 million is from revenues of the provincial government.
