P50M allocated for cash-for-work program

ROXAS CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 6 has allocated P50.490 million for the 17,000 beneficiaries for its cash-for-work program in Capiz province.

This is part of the agency’s Risk Resiliency Program-Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation-Disaster Risk Reduction and Cash for Work Program in Capiz.

The funds will be allocated to 14 local government units in the province, namely Dao, Cuartero, Dumarao, Sigma, Sapian, Mambusao, Jamindan, Tapaz, Pres. Roxas, Pilar, Maayon, Pontevedra, Panay and Roxas City.

Every beneficiary will get P2,970 for a 10-day work as job order, according to the Capiz Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office.

Beneficiaries must plant and grow a total of 170,000 seedlings, which is part of the province’s tree-planting program.

Beneficiaries are also expected to do other work such as seed collection, nursery establishment, and other small-scale infrastructure projects for the “1M Kahoy Project” of the provincial government.*
