P633.778-M in tax collected in 6 months

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue District Office No. 72 tax collection in the first six months this year has exceeded its goal.

Based on the BIR data, the revenue collection from January to June this year is at P633,778,389.19.

The figure is 2.62 percent higher than its P617,625,000.00 tax goal for the semester.

The accomplishment is 15.88 percent higher than the actual collection during the same period in 2020.

“I would like to thank our beloved and supportive taxpayers of Capiz for being compliant in paying the correct taxes on time,” said BIR RDO No. 72 head Eralen De Aro, as she also conveyed her appreciation to the employees and staff of the RDO who continue to do their civic duties despite of the challenges and obstacles they faced due to the pandemic.

For the remaining six months, the BIR Roxas city is tasked to collect P619,652,000.00 to reach its goal this year.

“Since the threat of COVID-19 is still out there, invisible and evolving, and the circumstances are erratically changing, this will be a great challenge for all of us. However, the taxpaying public of the Province of Capiz need not to worry since the competent and reliable employees and staff of BIR Capiz are here to assist and answer your queries,” De Aro stressed.

She also appealed to the taxpayers to continue filing and paying their tax dues as well as supporting the Bureau’s programs and activities.
