P7.8-M improvement for Dayao-Libas-Culasi Road

Residents and businesses in Roxas City, Capiz can look forward to a more reliable and convenient road
network with the concrete road project by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Undertaken by DPWH-Capiz 1st District Engineering Office, the P7.8-million project involves
reconstructing the Dayao-Libas-Culasi Road leading to Culasi Port, removing 4,020 square meters of
existing asphalt pavement, and installing portland cement concrete pavement (PCCP).
Additionally, 139 square meters of reflectorized pavement markings will be applied to enhance
motorists’ visibility and safety on the road.
DPWH-6 Regional Director Sanny Boy O. Oropel said this project aim to facilitate smoother travel for
commuters, particularly heavy-load vehicles.
“The concreting of Dayao-Libas-Culasi Road acts as a crucial link for vehicles travelling from Culasi Port
to nearby municipalities and cities, providing a faster and more efficient route for transportation,” said
Oropel.
The upgraded road will serve as a service route for these vehicles, reducing the strain on the main roads
and minimizing damages caused by heavy vehicles passing through. (DPWH-Region 6)
