Panay Island’s 1st 911 command center to rise in Sigma

The first ever 911 command center of Panay Island will rise in Sigma.

This was announced by the Department of the Interior and Local (DILG) after holding a two-day training course.

Jocelyn Villafor, the assistant general supervisor of the 911 National Call Center, said the command center will be an integrated place in responding to fires, medical, peace and order concerns, and other emergency situations.

The 911 command center will be located inside the Sigma Municipal Hall.

Sa isang pilantik ng kanilang daliri, magkakaroon ng tugon para sa kanilang pangangailangan (With a snap of the fingers, their needs and concerns will be acted upon),” Villaflor said.

Villaflor noted the need to implement faster response mechanisms.

For instance, getting details of the incident should only last for two (2) to three (3) minutes while first responders should be at the location within seven (7) minutes.

The two-day training course was participated by personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Rural Health Unit (RHU), Public Order and Safety Unit (POSU), and barangay officials. (Photo from Municipality of Sigma FB page)
