PCSO donates 7 ambulance units to Capiz towns

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) recently donated seven ambulances to seven different
local government units (LGUs) of Capiz province.
These were for the municipalities of Dao, Cuartero, Dumalag, Dumarao, Ivisan, Panay, and Pilar.
“This will greatly help the LGU to ensure a prompt response during the medical and hospitalization
needs of our constituents,” said Dao Mayor Jose Jimbo Barruela during the recent ceremonial turnover
in Manila.
Barruela thanked PCSO General Manager Melquiades A. Robles.
Dumarao Mayor Mateo “Matt” C. Hachuela also wrote the PCSO to thank them for their donation and
promised to take good care of the vehicle. He said the LGU will allocate a yearly budget for its repair
and maintenance. The ambulance is now assigned to the Rural Health Unit of Dumarao.
In 2022, the PCSO distributed nine PTVs to the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in Roxas City, Tapaz
District Hospital in Tapaz town, Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra town, and Mambusao District
Hospital in Mambusao town as well as Roxas City and the municipalities of Pontevedra, Panitan,
President Roxas and Sigma in Capiz based on PCSO records.
Robles also led the distribution of a total of P1.259 million for all the local government units (LGUs) in
Capiz during the agency’s distribution of lotto share for the local government units in Western Visayas at
the Provincial Capitol in Roxas City in September last year.
The amount was part of the P8.8-million lotto share for at least 55 LGUs in Western Visayas.
It is the five percent charity fund generated from the lotto sales in LGU’s respective areas from January
to June 2023.
