“More students from Capiz are making the trip Iloilo to pursue a University of Iloilo (UI) education. Opening in Roxas allows us to bring that opportunity closer to where these students and their families are,” said Christopher Tan, PHINMA Education Country Head.
PHINMA Education officially opens PHINMA UI Roxas, bringing UI’s education and student experience to Roxas City and giving students in Capiz greater access to the university without having to leave the province.
The new campus initially offers Bachelor of Science and in Information System and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management programs backed by UI’s experience in producing successful professionals who have built built careers in the Philippines and abroad.
As the campus grows, PHINMA Education plans to assess the needs of students and industries in Capiz to determine additional programs to offer. That includes the possibility of bringing UI’s strength in
programs such as Criminology to Roxas.
UI has consistently delivered strong licensure examination results, including a Top 2 national placer in the August 2026 Criminologists Licensure Examination.
According to PHINMA UI Chief Operating Officer Martin Perez, the university’s strong licensure performance is a strength it hopes to bring to Roxas.
“UI has consistently produced strong licensre results year after year, including a Top 2 Finisher in the August 2026 Criminologist Licensure Examination result. We hope bring that same strength to Roxas as we work toward offering Criminology and more programs here, giving students access to quality education that delivers strong academic and employment outcomes at an affordable cost. We thank the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office VI for approving our initial programs in Roxas and for helping make this opportunity possible for more students in Capiz.”
Beyond academics, PHINMA UI Roxas will work with local government, industries, and community partners to create opportunities for interships, employment, research, and community engagement.
Students will also have access to PHINMA Education’s student supports system and scholarship
opportunities, including the Hawak Kamay Scholarship.
PHINMA UI Assistant Chief Operating Officer Jasper Corpuz said that its goal is for the campus to grow alongside the needs of Capiz developing local talent while connecting students to opportunities within the province and beyond.
“We’re not just bringing a campus to Roxas. We’re here to build an institution that grows with Capiz one that develops local talent and creates opportunities for students and the community.”
With PHINMA UI Roxas, what students from Capiz once had to travel to Iloilo for can now be closer to home opening more opportunities for them so study, build careers, and contribute to the community.
