The Philippine National Police (PNP) Maritime Group of Capiz launched the SALBABIDA Project in Roxas
City.
No less than Police Major Wilmar Bolivar, PNP Maritime Group of Capiz, led the August 28 launching in
Barangay Culasi.
“Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang gusto ng pulis, ligtas ka,” said Bolivar as he was citing PNP Chief General
Francisco Marbil.
The SALBABIDA derives from the word salba, a Visayan term means “to save” and bida from the
anti-illegal drug campaign known as Buhay ay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan or BIDA of the Department of
the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Bolivar emphasized that the environment is a foundation of our life in this earth and every action we
take— either big or small—has an effect.
“Our children need clean air, clean water and we need to safeguard our planet for future generation,”
said Bolivar about the coastal clean-up and tree planting activities.
The activities aim to raise awareness on the ill-effects of dangerous drugs and destruction of maritime
environment through information, education and communication.
The SALBABIDA Project is backed by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine Coast
Guard (PCG), the Roxas City local government, and the DILG-Capiz.
