The fatal shooting of businessman Rogelio “Nonoy” Buaron in Roxas City may be business-related.
The Roxas City Police Station is looking at business dealings as a motive after Buaron was shot and killed along Pavia Street in Barangay IX last November 21, 2025.
Roxas City police chief Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Jomuad Jr. said that while Buaron’s murder was an isolated case, he assured to give justice to the family.
A resident of the Municipality of Panay, the victim was shot by a riding in tandem while he was standing along the road while supervising a house construction.
CCTV footage showed the suspects came from McKinley Street, passed through the bridge, turned to Premier de Mayo and Pavia Street, wherein the crime occurred.
Jomuad said investigators will use additional CCTV footage in an attempt to identify the suspects.
During the press conference, Jomuad asked the public’s help if they can give information that can identify the suspects.
The police are also asking the victim’s son to turn over his cellphone as it may have crucial information.
Recovered from the crime scene were eight (8) empty shells and four (4) slugs.
