Police: No complaints on investment fraud

ROXAS CITY — Police Lt. Col. Ricardo Jomuad Jr., city police chief, said they did not receive any complaints regarding the investment fraud in the locality.

He stressed, “Mayron tayong Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that regulates the business and we are not an agency that issues permit so why blamed the police for it?”

“We will only act if there is a complaint,” Jomuad added.

He also said there were questions about Chiyuto being a medical doctor, but nobody filed a case.

“I have been conducting discreet investigations since April. There was no record from the PRC of him being a doctor,” Jomuad said.

There is also a complaint from the SEC about Chiyuto misrepresenting his business, Jomuad said.

He said he also requested the city government to check the different investment schemes operating in the city, and that the police is also conducting its research regarding the scheme.

Meanwhile, he encouraged the victims of investment fraud to file complaints.*
