Power rates down in May

ROXAS CITY — The residential rates of Capiz Electric Cooperative (Capelco) for May decreased by P0.77 per kilowatt hour (kWh).

The power rate for this billing month was at  P9.8280/kWh from P10.5989/kWh in April, Capelco manager Edgar Diaz said.

The decrease in the power rate was attributed to the drop in the generation charge this month, he said.

He said the billing computation was submitted to the Energy Regulatory Commission before it was implemented.

Meanwhile, he reminded the consumers to conserve energy to avoid paying high electricity bills.*
