Rebel-free villagers train on meat processing

SEVENTEEN residents of Barangays Mahunodhunod, Putian, San Antonio and Carataya in Cuartero town underwent a skills training on Meat Processing recently.

The initiative was conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry through its Negosyo Center (NC) in Cuartero in collaboration with the local government unit of Cuartero. The participants were trained to produce commercial meat products particularly pork tocino, longanisa, burger patty and siomai.

Provincial Veterinarian Office’s former meat processing coordinator Marlene Llamado was the resource person and trainor of the three-day undertaking.

She is also the owner of Marlean Meat Products based at Brgy. Parian in Sigma town.

The participants also underwent the Entrepreneurship Development Orientation thru the NC business counselor to capacitate them the basics in running a business.

The four Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) barangays are recipients of P80 million assistance under the Support to the Barangay Development Program (SBDP) of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed
Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

The amount will be used to finally address insurgency by bringing the needed sustainable solutions and basic services to communities. (PIA Capiz)
