Roxas cited for COVID-19 response

ROXAS CITY — The Department of the Interior and Local Government-National Barangay Operations Office recognized the Roxas City government’s efforts in slowing down the spread of COVID-19.

DILG-National Barangay Operations Office director Dennis Villasenor, in a letter on March 4, lauded the city government’s “Search for COVID-free barangays” program, dubbed as “Search for CURES in Barangays” or Search for Covid-19 Unified Response and Effective Strategies in Barangays.

The program was launched by Mayor Ronnie Dadivas to stop the spread of the virus in villages.

“We commend the exemplary leadership of the present administration, dedication and hard work of the city government’s personnel, and the discipline and cooperation of the communities,” Villasenor said.

Dadivas said, “Ang pagkilala nga ini sa kadalag-an sang aton programa kag maayo nga bunga sang kampanya kontra COVID-19 sang Roxas City nangin posibli bangud sa guinpakita nga suporta, disiplina kag kooperasyon sang pumoluyo sang syudad labi sa tanan sa dedikasyon kag kahugod sa pagtrabaho sang tanan nga health workers kag frontliners.”

“Indi pa tapos ang aton pagpakigbato sa sini nga pandemya apang ako nagapati nga tubtob kita nagaupdanay kag kamo nagasalig kag nagakooperar ini aton malampuwasan,” Dadivas added.

The top three best performing barangays were Bago, Lawaan, and Milibili, while Special Awards for Border Security were given to Barangays Adlawan, Lonoy, Balijuagan, Tanza, Banica, Loctugan, and Bato.

A special award for Zoning Containment or Lockdown was awarded to Barangays Cagay and Culasi.*
