Roxas City’s RT-PCR lab opening soon

ROXAS CITY—The Roxas City government is naming its RT-PCR lab the Roxas City Diagnostic and Laboratory Center operational for COVID-19 Testing.

Per Upod Kita Ronnie Dadivas Facebook page, the Department of Health (DOH) Research Institute for Tropical Medicine Molecular Laboratory has given the laboratory a 100-percent proficiency rate for the SARS-CoV-2 detection test.

Located at the Hortus Botanicus in Bgy. Milibili here, the laboratory is under the supervision of the City Health Office.

Tentatively set to open Oct. 20, the facility has been licensed to operate from October 12 until December 31, 2020.

The DOH Regional Office 6 has sent medical technologists Marie Angeline So, Aerrah Venna Celino, Rheda Norba, and Jorica Lynn Duronio to man the facility.

Previously, city officials have been pushing for the installation of the said lab to speed up test results.
