Search for 10 outstanding environmental initiatives in Capiz on

The quest to recognize and celebrate the remarkable environmental efforts of individuals and organizations in Capiz has officially kicked off.

The coordination meeting for the “Dungog Lunhaw 10: Search for 10 Outstanding Environmental Initiatives” was held recently at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall in the Capiz Provincial
Capitol.

“Dungog Lunhaw 10” is an annual recognition program that applauds the exceptional leadership demonstrated by Capisnons in the initiation and execution of initiatives aimed at conserving, protecting, and restoring Capiz’s environment and ecology.

It also acknowledges their dedication to enforcing national environmental laws to combat trans-boundary issues and their commitment to devising sustainable solutions for complex environmental challenges through education and responsible practices.

The meeting commenced with opening remarks delivered by Francis Jan Dariagan, Administrative Officer III, who represented Ronald Allan Cullo, acting head of Capiz Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (CaPENRO).

Present at the coordination meeting were representatives and the screening committee members from various sectors, convened in Executive Order No. 15 Series of 2023, which officially launched “Dungog Lunhaw 10” and constituted its organizational committee, signed by Capiz Governor Fredenil Castro, demonstrating the provincial government’s dedication to environmental excellence.

The gathering also marked the beginning of the meticulous process of identifying and honoring the 10 most outstanding environmental initiatives in Capiz this year.
