A major healthcare milestone unfolded in Sigma as the Sigma Dialysis Center officially opened its doors to patients on December 1, delivering long-awaited relief to residents who previously had to travel far for life-sustaining treatment.
“Today, hope is finally closer to home. Our kidney patients will no longer suffer exhausting journeys to Roxas or Tapaz just to get the treatment they need,” Mayor Dante Eslabon declared.
The mayor underscored that dialysis services will be free, with a standby ambulance ready to bring patients safely to and from their homes—a service he said ensures dignity, convenience, and continuity of care.
Eslabon also thanked Second District Congresswoman Jane Castro and Capiz Governor Atty. Fredenil Castro for their pivotal help in securing the necessary power supply and support that allowed the project to push through.
The municipality partnered with Brillant Health Care, owned by the Alvarez family of Tarlac, which invested millions in the development and operations of the center. Chief Executive Agnes Alvarez said their team handled the requirements for the Permit to Construct, worked closely with DOH and PhilHealth for approval, and procured modern dialysis machines and essential medical equipment.
Alvarez assured residents that the center is equipped with top-quality, safe, and reliable machines, and that Brillant Health Care will oversee the full operation to maintain high standards of service.
With its launch, the Sigma Dialysis Center is expected to significantly ease the financial and emotional burden of kidney patients, offering accessible, cost-free, and high-quality treatment right in their own community—bringing hope, convenience, and life-saving care closer than ever.
