SPES post-deployment session held

THE post-deployment session of Special Program for Employment of Students
beneficiaries was held on August 11 at Tapaz Civic Center.

This was attended by
OIC Municipal Administrator Milagros “Chay” Palomar, Vice Mayor Romel Somo,
Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) Josie Cambel, and other local

The SPES is a flagship program of Department of Labor and Employment(DOLE) that enables poor but deserving students to pursue their education.

This is the essence of the SPES, a youth employment- bridging program of DOLE in partnership with the local government unit of Tapaz.

SPES aims to provide temporary employment to poor but deserving students, out-of-school youth, and dependents of displaced or would-be displaced workers during summer and/or Christmas vacation or any time of the year to augment the family’s income to help ensure that beneficiaries are able to pursue their education.

At least 36 beneficiariesfrom 58 barangays of Tapaz completed the 20 working days in different offices of the municipal government.*
