The 1 st Capiz Grand Shopping and Travel Sale held at Robinsons Roxas, SM City Roxas and
Capiz Provincial Park was highly successful.
The success of the December 26-31, 2023 was attributed to the partnership between the
Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibits (MICE) Alliance of Capiz and the Provincial Government of
Capiz.
The inaugural event of the newly-established MICE Alliance of Capiz highlighted the diverse
and wide-array of agri-aqua products, goods, facilities, services and attractions of Capiz through
the convergence and the efforts of business and tourism-related establishments.
Dr. Abundio Balgos, MICE Alliance of Capiz president, said that its goal is to strengthen public-private
partnership (PPP) to bring major conventions and exhibitions in Capiz.
Governor Fredenil Castro also lauded the newly-formed MICE Alliance of Capiz for supporting being
visionaries and committed to supporting the developmental goals of Capiz.
Castro reiterated to members of the MICE Alliance of Capiz there’s still room to strengthen commitment
of other stakeholders to reach its goal as a MICE destination.
“Please lend to us your support. Please let us work together. I know that with us being together, we will
be able to reach our goal and deliver to our people what we intend to deliver,” Castro added.
Atty. Helen J. Catalbas, former regional director of the Department of Tourism (DOT-6) was also present
in the inaugural event of MICE. Catalbas is a MICE consultant.
The opening program at Robinsons Roxas had cultural performances by the Filamer Christian University
Silak Dance Company and the Capiz State University (CAPSU) Main Chorale, which was recently awarded
