A Super Health Center will rise in the Municipality of Pontevedra next year.
Municipal Administrator Jhung Tumlos said the Municipality of Pontevedra is lucky to be chosen by the Department of Health (DOH) as one of the newest batch for Super Health Centers across the country.
In an interview with The Capiz Times, Tumlos said the Super Health Center will benefit the people of Pontevedra by giving them more access to health services.
A Super Health Center is medium-sized type poly-clinic, which is larger and more comprehensive than the usual Rural Health Unit (RHU).
Among the services offered at a Super Health Center are birthing, dental, vaccination, and minor surgery.
It also offers diagnostic services including ECG, x-ray and ultrasound.
The construction of the Super Health Center in Pontevedra will be funded under DOH’s Health Facility Enhancement Program (HFEP) and facilitated by 1st District Congressman Howard Guintu.
Construction works in Brgy. Binantucan is expected to start by the first quarter of 2027.
