Tapaz completes regional SGLG assessment

Local government unit of Tapaz completed the Seal of Local Governance (SGLG) Regional Evaluation of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) held on June 13.
The LGU Tapaz was evaluated by the Regional Assessment Team (RAT) headed by LGOO VII Maricel Bechayda, Team Leader, Ana Marie Albaladejo, CSO Representative and LGOO II Mary Jecyl Luda.
Mayor Roberto “Nonong” Palomar welcomed the validators, municipal officials and department heads and shared the efforts of Tapaz and Best practices toward responsive, inclusive, transparent and accountable governance.
Governance areas evaluated were the performance on Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection, Peace and Order, Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Education, Local Youth Development, Peace, Safety and Security, Environmental Management, and Tourism, Culture and the Arts.
Under the law, the SGLG refers to “an award, incentive, honor, and recognition-based program for all LGUs and is a continuing commitment for LGUs to continually progress and improve their performance.”
