Tapaz Mayor Roberto “Nonong” Palomar, through concerted efforts with Overseas Workers Welfare
Administration (OWWA), was successful in bringing home Gerame Sumpaan.
The 31-year-old lady OFW from Barangay Agpalali experienced maltreatment from her employer in
Saudi Arabia.
Husband Rolando Jimenez said the swift response and support of the local government unit (LGU) of
Tapaz was able to bring his wife home this New Year.
Gerame was only working for three-and-a-half months in Saudi Arabia when she was maltreated.
Mayor Palomar and First Lady Chay Palomar extended their heartfelt wishes for Gerame’s recovery and
reintegration into the community.
Gerame and her husband are very thankful for the support of LGU Tapaz.
