TATC night market operations suspended

ROXAS CITY – Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center (TATC) would not be operating at night until vendors and marketgoers comply with COVID-19 health protocols, Market Administrator Heloise Mendoza said.

Operation hours at TATC have been reduced starting May 11 to mitigate the spread of the virus, Mendoza said.

Shops can begin opening at 4 am but would have to start closing by 5:30 pm. It’s lights out by 6 pm.

Mendoza added that vendors and marketgoers do not wear face masks and face shields anymore at night.

TATC employees cannot sustain the monitoring of compliance of health protocols until nighttime and that there are not enough employees at night shift, Mendoza said.

Sidewalk vendors can sell from 4 am to 7 am and 3 pm to 6 pm.

The move is part of the city’s fight against COVID-19.*
