The Capiz Times was among 39 newspapers and media organizations that joined the five-day media training dubbed as “Truth in the AI Age: Fact-Checking, Creating Content, Using AI Tools and Monetizing Digital Assets”.
Edalyn Acta and Nycel Jane Dela represented the Capiz-based newspaper during the September 21-25, 2026 training that was organized by the Philippine Press Institute (PPI) in partnership with the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) in Binondo, Manila.
Among the resource speakers were Sofia Calabrese of the European Partnership for Democracy, Rowena Paraan of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ), Mara Cepeda of The Straits Times, and Emma Quaedvlieg of the European Partnership for Democracy.
PPI Training Director and Manila Standard Managing Editor Joyce Pañares and PPI Luzon Trustee and Balikas News Network Publisher Joenald Rayos also helped lead the program.
The five-day training brought together the print media from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao for discussions and practical exercises on navigating the evolving digital media landscape. (Nycel Jane Dela & PPI photos)
