After assuming office, Vice Mayor Paolo Besa of the Municipality of Panay is eyeing to digitize the Citizen Charter as part of his priority to promote transparent governance.
As presiding officer of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Panay, Besa urged other SB members to make the Citizen Charter accessible via social media.
That way, the constituents of Panay can track better the work of municipal legislators.
The 37-year-old Besa assumed as municipal vice mayor last February 3 following the death of then vice mayor Julius Asis.
In consideration to the staff of Asis, Besa assured they are going to be retained and admitted it would be difficult to hire a new set of workers.
“I have called for a staff meeting to make the Office of the Vice Mayor organize and delegate the tasks and duties of everyone to hasten the delivery of basic services to the people of Panay town,” Besa said.
Besa also vowed to continue the advocacy and projects started by Asis.
Besa is the eldest son of Mayor Jonathan “Sonny” Besa.
