Women villagers undergo stress management

NEARLY a hundred women from barangays Lus-onan, Linao and Daga in Panay town and officers of Federation of Barangay Women Organization, Inc. in Panay attended a symposium on Stress Management for Women, March 8, at the Lus-onan covered gym.

The activity was initiated by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Provincial Office in coordination with the
Department of Health (DOH) – Capiz in view of the National Women’s Month celebration.

It was also made possible through the support of COMELEC Municipal Offices
of Panay, Mambusao, Sigma and Sapian.

“This is one way of empowering women to battle gender – biased environment towards a stress – free and inclusive place to live in,” said COMELEC Provincial Office
Public Information Officer Ruthche Calixterio.

Calixterio is also the Municipal Election Officer of Panay and the president of Capiz
Association of Government Public Information Officers (CAGPIO).

“It is also intended to fight anxiety, depression and worse suicide if stress is not properly managed,” she noted.

During the symposium, DOH Capiz PIO Joeffry Espiritu gave stress management and reduction inputs and exercises among the participants.

Similar activities were also conducted by COMELEC for the Women’s Month celebration from 2018 to 2022. (PIA Capiz)
