WV city, provincial vets lauded for anti-ASF efforts

The Department of Agriculture (DA) Western Visayas commended the efforts and support of the City and Provincial Veterinarian Offices on the agency’s continuous battle against the deadly African Swine Fever (ASF).

“We would like to thank the City and Provicial Veterinarians for their contributions in preventing the entry of ASF in the region. Nakita natun ang ila pagpaningkasog para malikawan ang pagsulod sang ASF kay kadaku sang sini nga industriya. Isa kita sa mga rehiyon nga nagapadala sang baboy sa Metro Manila nga kung sa diin may kakulangan sang suplay bangud sa ASF,” said Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulation Dr. Peter Sobrevega.

The Regional ASF Task Force, headed by Dr. Jonic Natividad, awarded certificates of recognition to City and provincial governments and their veterinarian’s office recently in Iloilo City.

The awardees are: Iloilo Provincial Veterenarian Dr. Darel Tabuada Iloilo City Veterenarian Dr. Thomas Forteza, Aklan Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Mabel Sinel, Antique Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Florencio Macuja, Capiz Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Leonel Abordo, Guimaras Provincial Veterinarian Dr.Theresa Macainan, Negros Occidental Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Renante Decena, Bacolod City Veterinarian Dr. Agueda Dela Torre, and  Iloilo Bacolod Association of Veterinary Sales Representatives (IBAVSR) President Maria Fe Sy.

“As we continue to provide better government service to farmers, which is our mandate, it is our great pleasure to give you our most mindful acts of gratitude. The essence of today’s activity is more on gratitude-we thank our partners! Thank you for everything, not just saying a simple thank you, but a profound, heartfelt thank you. To our partners in the media, to our partners in the LGUs, we cannot thank you enough for all your untiring support sa pagpulaw-bugtaw sa pagmonitor, to keep Western Visayas ASF Free and footh and mouth disease and bird flu-free.
