What are the top 10 active sports being played by Capisnon?

I consider basketball the number one sport in Roxas City and in the province of Capiz.

In my personal opinion, the remaining nine sports, listed in alphabetical order, are arnis, badminton, billiards, chess, lawn tennis, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, and volleyball.

I have learned that the training of these athletes is often supported by their parents, helping to boost their confidence and develop their skills in their chosen sports.

I also want to acknowledge some local government units (LGUs) in Capiz province for their ongoing support of our athletes.

However, what we truly need is a comprehensive sports development program that addresses training, nutrition, exposure, scholarships, incentives, and the overall needs of every potential athlete who will represent the province of Capiz in future competitions.

We cannot solely depend on our homegrown talents; we also need to scout for ways to counter our region’s rivals. This includes recruiting the best athletes from the countryside to strengthen our lineup and enhance our competitiveness, especially as we aim to end our title drought in prestigious tournaments in Western Visayas such as the WVRAA, WVPRISA, WVSCUAA, Batang Pinoy, and other events sanctioned by the Philippine Sports Commission.

In reality, have the top ten sports in the province, according to my personal choices, submitted or received a budget for a long-term

sports development program from the appropriate government agencies?

The four annual sporting events in Region 6 that I mentioned are quickly approaching.

Are we sufficiently prepared to secure a respectable finish in the 2026 sports challenge against our regional rivals?
